Heja, the fast-growing app for youth sports teams, today announced it has raised $2.8M in Seed financing led by Luminar Ventures. Bonnier Ventures, Inbox Capital, Max Ventures and board member Caroline Ingeborn are also participating in the round.
Heja is making sports team communication fast, reliable and collaborative for coaches, parents and players. In less than a year since launching, Heja has reached over 100, 000 registered users with most of its growth being organic. The large majority of its users are in the U.S. but the app has seen sustainable growth in most English-speaking markets.
“We see a huge potential in simplifying communication for coaches, parents and players across the globe. There are today over a billion people in global youth sports and most of them are still relying on email and texts to communicate and coordinate between each other,” said Heja Co-founder and CEO Mikael Blix.
The focus is now set on adding new talent to the team, product development and continued growth in the U.S.
