Acast Announces Oskar Serrander as US General Manager

Acast, the world’s leading technology platform for on-demand audio and podcasting announced today that Oskar Serrander has joined the company as General Manager of the US market.

Serrander brings more than 11 years of experience in media and technology companies in both Sweden and the US. Serrander joins Acast to accelerate the US market growth and achieve the same market dominance in the US as the company already has in Europe.

“We couldn't have asked for a better person to take on this role,” said Acast’s CEO and Co-Founder Måns Ulvestam. “Oskar has the perfect mix of experience to run our US operation. His passion for audio storytelling is clear -- Oskar is responsible for building Spotify’s US business and expanding the work of iHeartMedia. We know his talents will serve the Acast team well.”

Serrander spent 5 years at Spotify building out the commercial success in Europe before being tapped to introduce the disruptive music service to the US. The highly anticipated 2011 launch was a mission critical task for Spotify and marked the beginning of the streaming leader’s global expansion. Most recently, Serrander worked with iHeartMedia, serving as Vice President of Connections, a sales and marketing partnership team focusing on business development of the radio giant's largest partners.

“The rapid growth of podcasting over the last couple of years has only reinforced my commitment to audio as a medium,” said Oskar Serrander, the new General Manager for Acast’s US operations. “Acast is by far the most forward thinking idea and solution I've encountered in the space and I am beyond thrilled to join an amazing group of talented leaders and hardworking individuals to help producers and podcast fans create and discover better audio content.”

Serrander will be based out of the New York office in the beginning of July and will be immediately focused on business development opportunities for the brand.
